EMT/Advanced EMT Course Coordinator/Instructor

Job Title: EMT/AEMT Course Coordinator/Instructor

Pay Range: $30.50-$38.10 per hour depending on experience

Hours: This position can be filled as either one full-time position, or two part-time positions. The 2 part-time position hours are Monday-Thursday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Monday-Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The opportunity:
The EMT/AEMT Course Coordinator at Tooele Technical College plays a crucial role in advancing the
college’s mission of providing high-quality technical education and training to a diverse student body, including high school students. This position involves the design, delivery, and quality assurance of the EMT and AEMT training programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of educational excellence and regulatory compliance. The Course Coordinator will collaborate with faculty, high school programs, students, and community industry partners to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The EMT/AEMT Instructor will be responsible for teaching and training students in both the practical and theoretical aspects of advanced emergency medical services, including patient assessment, treatment procedures, and medical protocols. They will evaluate student performance to ensure competency and readiness for exams, including the National Certification exam, NREMT. Additionally, they ensure compliance with educational standards, contribute to curriculum development, and mentor students throughout their training.

  • Competent in all aspects of the Emergency Medical Services profession
  • Current AEMT/Medic license and certification with the State of Utah
  • Current endorsement as an EMS instructor

EMT Adjunct Instructor

Job Title: EMT Adjunct Instructor

Pay Range: $29.00 per hour
Hours: The hours will vary. Currently, we could use help from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Tuesdays and
Thursdays for the AEMT class, and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the EMT class. Starting in August we will need coverage Monday through Friday 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
assisting with teaching skills to high school students.

The opportunity

Working as an integral part of our Instruction team, you will be a part-time evening faculty member in our Medical Assistant program.

What you’ll do:

  • Instruct and supervise students (high school and adult), review prior learning, and evaluate performance
  • Teach effectively using a competency-based curriculum
  • Maintain a productive and safe learning environment consistent with Tooele Technical College policy
  • Identify and maintain equipment and supplies as required to support continuous instruction; request, purchase, and maintain equipment and supplies as appropriate
  • Orient new students to classroom facilities, technology, and program/classroom performance and
    behavior expectations, procedures, and safety
  • Address and resolve issues affecting student success, coordinating with Student Services when
    appropriate
  • Coordinate with staff and other instructors to ensure courses meet program, student, and employer needs
  • Provide feedback to program faculty to develop and implement competency-based curriculum that meets industry standards
  • Maintain student records, verify and report competency certificates, and track and report attendance, progress, and grades in a timely manner

  • Assist program faculty to meet College program and accreditation standards and requirements including completion, placement, licensure, membership hours, headcount, retention, and certificates awarded (graduate completers)
  • Support program faculty in maintaining relationships with industry partners, developing and participating with the program Occupational Advisory Committee
  • Support program certification requirements as appropriate to accreditation, Department of Education, state compliance regulations, and pathway requirements
  • Maintain and document contact with program employers to stay current with industry trends
