- Shift differential – some companies run 24/7, but all IMAT OAC offer shift differential to compensate for the work schedule.
- Welder – techs must know basic welding skills for repair purposes.
- Mechanic – an industrial maintenance tech is essentially a mechanic that doesn’t work on vehicles.
- Fabricator/machinist – an industrial maintenance tech welds for repair purposes, and uses the metal lathe and mill to fabricate machinery parts.
- Electrician – while techs are not master electricians, they are trained to keep the facility open and the production machinery operational.
- Computer programing – people that like to work with their hands but are also interested in computer programming enjoy working with modern machinery/PLC’s required to keep production moving.
- Engineering – techs work side-by-side with engineers and possess some of the same skills needed in a manufacturing facility.
- Essential workers – the manufacturing industry never stops working.
- High-demand career field – we can’t train people fast enough to fill the jobs in Utah.
