Accounting Director

Salary Range: $93,599 – $104,968

The opportunity: The Accounting Director works under the direction of the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for budgeting, financial accounting systems, and reporting. The Director oversees the financial operation of the College and supports audits and year-end financial close.

What you’ll do:

  1. Responsible as the Financial Controller; supervise and oversee the Fiscal Services department
    and all College financial transactions and auxiliary operations
  2. Make and review general journal entries and account reconciliations; prepare annual financial
    statements
  3. Oversee and review all cash receipts and payments
  4. Manage fixed assets, including surplus property
  5. Budget Officer: create an annual budget and complete monthly and regulatory reports
  6. Assist with audits
  7. Assist with the design and implementation of fiscal procedures and effective internal controls
  8. Prepare documentation and maintain compliance with Accrediting Body
  9. Ensure all accounting systems and staff work effectively together in order to accurately record all
    financial transactions
  10. Enforce policies and procedures that keep college assets secure

What we’re looking for: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  2. Seven years of full-service accounting experience including supervisory experience
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of accounting software
  4. Experience in higher education or governmental accounting and/or financial aid preferred
  5. Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  6. Certified Public Accountant preferred
  7. Use and knowledge of Student Information Systems preferred
  8. Working knowledge of general office procedures and practices and US GAAP
  9. Accounting and research & analysis skills; detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  10. Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, purchasing, accounts receivables and payables, and
    retail operations
  11. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to complete job responsibilities with minimal supervision
  12. Ability to supervise employees and demonstrate a professional-level understanding of leadership
    principles

Barbering Substitute Instructor

Pay Rate: $29.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma, or equivalent
2. Three years of experience as a Barber
3. Licensed by DOPL in Barbering or Cosmetology/Barbering
4. Licensed by DOPL as a Barber Instructor or Cosmetology/Barbering Instructor
5. Able to perform the bookkeeping at the end of the day and prepare the accounting records and accurately prepare the daily deposit

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution
2. Experience in career and technical education

Business Substitute Instructor

Pay Rate: $29.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma, or equivalent
2. Two years of experience and/or certification(s) in business or management

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Associate degree in related field, from an accredited college or university
2. Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution
3. Experience in career and technical education

Custodian Part-Time

Hours:  Friday and Saturday – 10 hours each day

Pay Range: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience

The opportunity:
Working as an integral part of our Facilities team, you will be responsible for the proper care and cleaning of the College.

What you’ll do:

  1. Clean and disinfect the College inside and out by performing custodial functions
  2. Help ensure that all Campus property, including facilities, equipment, systems, and grounds are
    kept safe and secure for students, staff, and visitors
  3. Monitor the facility by conducting routine inspections; ensure proper opening and closing
    functions; respond to alarms and code calls, and may provide first aid as necessary
  4. Help assist in the coordination, set-up, and tear-down of furniture to accommodate institutional training events

What we’re looking for:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required
  2. Experience working with varied maintenance operations/procedures, trade practices, custodial service techniques, and equipment operation
  3. Requires frequent physical exertion, including lifting up to 75 lbs., bending, reaching, kneeling,
    and walking
  4. Working with cleaning chemicals and disinfectants
  5. Operating mechanical tools and equipment
  6. Ability to work with little supervision; be organized and able to track a variety of assignments simultaneously

Diesel Technology Substitute Instructor

Pay Rate: $29.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma, or equivalent
2. Three year’s Heavy-Duty Diesel (HDD) maintenance experience and/or certificate in Heavy Duty Diesel technician

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution
2. ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, professional and organizational skills
2. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
3. Ability to operate and teach the proper operation of current HDD maintenance tools and machinery

EMT/AEMT Adjunct Instructor

Pay Range: $29.00 per hour

Hours: The hours will vary. Currently, we need help Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The Opportunity:
The adjunct instructor will be responsible for assisting in teaching and training students in both the
practical and theoretical aspects of advanced emergency medical services, including patient assessment,
treatment procedures, and medical protocols. They will assist with delivering lectures and covering gaps
in the instructional calendar. The main duty of the adjunct instructor will be to oversee hands-on skills
training and evaluate student performance to ensure competency and readiness for exams, including the National Certification exam, NREMT. Additionally, they ensure compliance with educational standards, contribute to curriculum development, and mentor students throughout their training.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with instruction and training within applicable program in accordance with curriculum and
    standards for subject matter being taught as assigned by the lead instructor or program director
  • Teach effectively using a competency-based curriculum
  • Evaluate the knowledge and competency of students and provide accurate reports under the
    supervision of the lead instructor and program director
  • Maintain a productive and safe learning environment consistent with Tooele Technical College
    policy

What we’re looking for:

  • Competent in given area of expertise being taught
  • For EMT program, current EMT, AEMT, or Medic license and certification with the State of Utah,
    and current endorsement as an EMS instructor
  • For AEMT program, current AEMT or Medic license and certification with the State of Utah, and
    current endorsement as an EMS instructor
  • Two year’s industry experience in area of expertise
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Degree in related field preferred
  • Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution preferred

Nail Technician Substitute Instructor

Pay Rate: $29.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma, or equivalent
2. One year of experience as a Nail Technician
3. Current DOPL Nail Technician Instructor License and Nail Technician License

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Two years of experience as a Nail Technician
2. Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution
3. Experience in career and technical education

Welding Technology Substitute Instructor

Pay Rate: $29.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma, or equivalent

1. Associate degree in related field, from an accredited college or university
2. Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution
