Minimum Qualifications:

  2. Three years’ experience as a Cosmetologist
  3. Licensed by DOPL in Cosmetology/Barbering
  4. Licensed by DOPL as a Cosmetology/Barbering Instructor
  5. Able to perform the bookkeeping at the end of the day and prepare the accounting records and accurately prepare the daily deposit

Diesel Technology Substitute Instructor

Job Title: Diesel Technology Substitute Instructor

2. Three year’s Heavy-Duty Diesel (HDD) maintenance experience and/or certificate in Heavy Duty Diesel technician

Preferred Qualifications:

2. ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification

Information Technology Instructor

Job Title: Information Technology Instructor

Pay Range: $70,157 – $80,680

Description:

The Opportunity:

Working as an integral part of our Instruction team, you will be a full-time faculty member in our IT and Cybersecurity program.

What you’ll do:

  • Instruct and supervise students (high school and adult), review prior learning, and evaluate
    performance
  • Teach effectively using a competency-based curriculum, ensuring that all students are assessed
    appropriately and consistently
  • Maintain a productive and safe learning environment consistent with Tooele Technical College policy
  • Identify and maintain equipment and supplies as required to support continuous instruction; request, purchase, and maintain equipment and supplies as appropriate
  • Orient new students to classroom facilities, technology, and program/classroom performance and
    behavior expectations, procedures, and safety
  • Address and resolve issues affecting student success, coordinating with Student Services when
    appropriate
  • Coordinate with staff and other instructors to ensure courses meet program, student, and employer needs
  • Cooperatively develop and implement competency-based curriculum that meets industry standards
  • Maintain student records, verify and report competency certificates, and track and report attendance, progress, and grades in a timely manner
  • Promote job readiness, encourage professionalism and good work habits, and assist with helping
    students find work-based learning opportunities, related employment, and/or continued education
  • Work to meet College program and accreditation standards and requirements including completion, placement, licensure, membership hours, headcount, retention, and certificates awarded (graduate completers)
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, developing and participating with the program Occupational Advisory Committee
  • Document the coordination and interactions with major industry partners and work with College
    management to cultivate new industry partnerships
  • Maintain and document contact with program employers to stay current with industry trends
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of department budget and expenditures
  • Actively serve on College teams or committees as assigned and participate in programmatic and College-wide activities as appropriate
  • Coordinate with staff for the development of appropriate advertising, brochures, flyers, catalog
    information, etc.
  • Participate in marketing and recruitment for the program
  • Assist in the articulation process between the Tooele Technical College program and programs at
    other educational institutions
  • Maintain program certification requirements as appropriate to accreditation, Department of Education, state compliance regulations and pathway requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Three years experience and/or certification(s) in Information Technology or related field
  • Degree in a related field preferred
  • Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution preferred
  • Experience in career and technical education preferred
