In the Safety & Shop Rules course, students will be given the student classroom orientation and learn safety standards and practices associated with the classroom/shop and Industrial Maintenance.
Certificate:Completion of this course certifies proficient understanding of Personal Protective Equipment, hand and power tool safety, and safety for lifting devices.
This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs: Competencies (skills you will learn):- Understanding of classroom and lab orientation and skills for success
- Understanding of personal protective equipment
- Understanding of lockout/tagout
- Understanding of tools, habits and work area safety
- Understanding of hazard communication and SDS
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
Course Length:The estimated length of this course is 15 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturday
Admission Requirements- Students must be at least 16 years old to enroll in this course.
