This course provides the student with the skills necessary to interpret and understand medical terminology, in order to be successful in the pursuit of health occupation careers. This is accomplished by utilizing a method of study that not only instructs the students in building medical terms but also gives the student immediate application in utilizing the medical term.
Certificate:
Completion of this course certifies proficient understanding of medical terminiology based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.
This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs: Competencies (skills you will learn):- Identify basic structure of medical words
- Apply word building and definitions
- Use medical abbreviations
- Correctly use medical terminology
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
