Students will learn law, ethics and confidentiality in allied health, medical billing and the health insurance industry.
Certificate:Completion of this course certifies proficient understanding of medical law and ethical practices based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.
This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs: Competencies (skills you will learn):- Understand the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Understand ethical and bioethical issues
- Understand workplace issues
- Learn code and standards infractions
- Learn statutory reporting and public duties
- Understand professional liability insurance
- Learn death and dying issues
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
