This course is to familiarize the Student Instructor with the Laws, Rules, and Regulations that pertain to the field of Cosmetoogy/Barbering Instructor.

Industry Certification: Prepare students to pass DOPL’s Cosmetology/Barbering Instructor exam
Competencies (skills you will learn):- During this course, the Student Instructor will become knowledgeable on the Laws, Rules and Regulations that apply to an Instructor, as well as be able to teach the Laws, Rules, and Regulations that apply to Barbers, and Cosmetolgist/Barbers.
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
Course Length:The estimated length of this course is 30 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

Admission Requirements:
1. Students must enroll in a minimum of 16 hours per week.
1. Students must present a high school transcript showing a C- or better, or be given a TABE exam showing an 8th grade level in reading and math.
2. High school students must be in at least the 11th grade.
2. Students must have taken and completed a Cosmetology/Barbering program, and must have received their State of Utah Division of Professional Licensing Cosmetology/Barbering license.

Tuition & Fees:Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
