In this course, students will continue to practice their skills in the lab focusing on women’s style haircuts, scalp treatments, manicures, pedicures, make up applications and facials and men’s perm wraps and hair coloring.
Certificate:Completion of this course certifies proficient understanding based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams and 100% on skill demonstration. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.
This course, in conjunction with the remaining Cosmetology/Barbering courses, fulfills requirements for the TATC Certificate of Proficiency for the Cosmetology/Barbering program. Completion of the program will also prepare you to sit for the Utah Division of Professional Licensing PSI Cosmetologist/Barber exam.
Competencies (skills you will learn):- Practical experience with women's style haircuts, roller sets and perm wraps
- Practical experience with color application - weaves, darker, lighter and retouch
- Practical experience with men's perm wraps and hair coloring
- Practical experience with up-do's
- Practical experience with scalp treatments
- Practical experience with blow dry and Marcel styles
- Practical experience with manicures, pedicures
- Practical experience with facials and make up applications
- Practical experience with chemical relaxers
- Practical experience with artificial nails
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
Course Length:The estimated length of this course is 207 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.
