The Basic Computer Literacy course is designed to provide health care and customer service students with a basic knowledge of computer principles, hardware and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. These skills will enable the health care professional to use computer equipment and programs in use in today’s health care industry.
Certificate:Completion of this course certifies proficient basic computer skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.
This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs: Competencies (skills you will learn):- Identify computing fundamentals such as computer hardware, and operating systems Web Apps and the Cloud
- Understand Word Processing with Microsoft Word
- Understand Spreadsheet Applications with Microsoft Excel
- Understand Database Applications with Microsoft Access
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
Course Length:The estimated length of this course is 30 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
