Students learn how to effectively support customers and troubleshoot the Windows operating system. The students, through hands-on activities and labs, learn to connect to and set up and troubleshoot a network. Students will work with Windows, Android, Linux and Mac OS X operating system basic functions as well with some mobile devices and printers. In addition, students will learn basic security strategies and virtualization. This course helps students prepare for the Comp TIA A+ 220-902 certification exams. The A+ exam consists of two exams. A student must go through the entire book and take the A + Essentials and Practical Application Computer Based Training (CBT) course to be ready for either exam.
Certificate:Completion of this course certifies proficient hardware configuring and managing skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

All students must be at least in the 9th grade and meet with an IT Faculty member prior to enrolling into this program.
All students take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). The program’s grade levels are 8th grade level for Math and 11th grade for Reading.
