POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Substitute Commercial Driver’s License Instructor
Minimum Qualifications:
1. 2 years of commercial driving experience
2. Valid CDL license and Current DOT card
3. Clean Driving Record/Clean MVRPreferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or relevant Certificates
2. Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
3. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
4. 3+ years of CDL experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions (including safety procedures)
2. Ability to maintain a safe environment
3. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
4. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
5. Ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds including those with disabilities
6. Ability to function as an effective substitute instructor in a competency-based, open-entry/open-exit instructional environmentPrimary Customers: Students

Job Focus: Instruct and supervise Tooele Tech students. Position focuses on customers’ needs and satisfaction with training outcomes/results and overall quality development ensuring that all aspects of technical training fulfill the College Campus mission.Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Supervise and instruct students
2. Teach effectively using a competency-based curriculum in an open-entry/open-exit instructional environment
3. Maintain a productive and safe learning environment consistent with Tooele Tech policy
4. Maintain student records, including timely tracking and reporting of attendance, progress and grades
5. Other duties as assigned - Substitute Instructors, Cosmetology/Barbering

Wage Range: varies by experience and education
Location: varies by programMinimum Qualifications:
- Education and/or experience in the field or a related field of study
- Current Utah Cosmetology Barbering Instructor’s license from the Division of Professional Licensing
- High School Diploma or equivalent
